West Coast Challengers was invited to participate in the 7th Annual “Salute to Veterans” Parade in Riverside, CA. Arrangements were made for two local high school cheerleaders to carry the club banner in front of our cars on the parade route and club member Don arranged for those participating to adorn their cars with an American flag to round out the club’s salute to our country’s veterans.

Club members met up early in a nearby parking lot to begin final preparation and preliminary staging. The owner of the local Islands Restaurant came outside and handed out cards for a free appetizer at his restaurant. Very patriotic and the club members very much appreciated the gesture.

After giving the cars a quick cleaning and once over, the club members caravanned over to the parade staging area where our cars were lined up and put on display while waiting for deployment onto the parade route.

After a while, it was time for the club to roll out and into the parade. The club members formed up side by side to form two columns and prepared to roll through the streets of downtown Riverside.

Thousands of spectators lined the parade route and when the Challengers came into view, the crowds waved their American flags and applauded our cars as we passed by.

West Coast Challengers is honored to have participated in “Salute to Veterans” Parade and we are extremely grateful for the past and present service of the men and women in our armed forces.

More photos from the parade can be found in our club photo gallery.
