Antelope Valley Mopar Club MOPARTY Car Show 2014

Posted: 13th September 2014 by West Coast Challengers in Car Show, Member Gathering

A few club members headed out to the 15th Annual MOPARTY Car Show put on by the Antelope Valley Mopar Club up in the high desert. Past years saw this car show take place during the height of the high temperature season, that the California desert in known for, with few places to escape the heat during the day. This year, however, the car show was scheduled later int he day and didn’t begin until late in the afternoon and go through to the evening, when the cool winds of the desert begin to pass, making the car show much more enjoyable and even more colorful.

Once we arrived, we were positioned right up front for a great view of the days events. The desert temperatures were still rather high, so after setting up our cars, the club members decided to head over to a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat in the comfort of their air conditioning while being able to view the goings on outside.

Once the sun began to settle, downtown became alive and the skies began to change to dance and fill with color.

We are always amazed that the more rural a car show is, the better the quality of the classic cars that attend are. Almost as if people won’t dare to take their prized classic cars out and chance all of their hard work to the grind of the over crowded Los Angeles freeway system. Frankly, we’re not sure that we would either.

The cool evening ruled the day and allowed us to walk the streets of downtown in comfort and view all of the amazing cars that attended the car show which lined up and down the middle of the streets of downtown.

Once again, special thanks to the Antelope Valley Mopar Club for being such gracious hosts and kudos to their club members for making West Coast Challengers feel right at home.
