West Coast Challengers was graciously invited and honored to attend the Chariots So Cal Car Show supporting the YMCA. Club member Kim, who’s father is a member of the Chariots So Cal car club, coordinated this event for our club as well as helping make it possible for us all to attend this evening car show.

Club members met up around the corner and at 5:30 pm, it was none other than Kim herself leading a trail of a dozen Dodge Challengers down the street and into the event. The parking lot was full of pre-1978 vehicles when we arrived but space for the club had already been marked off and reserved for us.

There were many great cars at the show, including a rare 1930’s Terraplane Truck and a 1966 Hemi Charger that made a brief appearance.

Club members mingled with fellow car enthusiasts, ate dinner at Peris Restaurant, and mingled some more. When the raffle and trophy presentation began, everyone gathered around. Club members Cory and Kim both won items from the raffle, but it was club member Dave who was cleaning house, wining one prize after another with his long stream of raffle tickets that he purchased.

Club member Curt won the “Host’s Pick” trophy with his Mopar 10 Challenger and the club won club participation, which was truly unexpected.

Of course, with our club, any club participation trophy that the club wins, every club member present has his or her name placed into a hat and the person whose name is drawn wins the trophy, their to keep. This time around, it was none other than club member Dave who continued on his lucky steak for the evening and was the winner of the award.

Congrats to all of the winners as well as all of those who came out to support this event. Special thanks to the Chariots So Cal car club for inviting us and being such gracious hosts. Kudos to their club members for making us all feel at home.

The So Cal Chariots have already contacted my dad, who is currently on vacation in Spokane, WA to let him know how IMPRESSED and happy they were with West Coast Challengers and the entire event in general. I received a “kudos” phone call from my dad this afternoon that brought tears to my eyes…Thank you ALL for all of your support and involvement, I can’t tell you all how much it meant to me to have the support of the West Coast Challengers family. ♥ ♥ ♥
